Giscus is a comments system powered by GitHub Discussions, allowing users to leave comments and reactions on websites via GitHub. It is open source, free of tracking or ads, and does not require a database since all data is stored in GitHub Discussions. It supports custom themes and multiple languages, is extensively configurable, and can be self-hosted. Giscus automatically fetches new comments and edits from GitHub and allows visitors to authorize their GitHub accounts to comment directly on discussions.
