Mozi

IoT Botnet Malware - Distributes through P2P networks and exploits vulnerabilities.

Mozi is a peer-to-peer (P2P) botnet that infects Internet of Things (IoT) devices, primarily targeting routers and DVRs. It communicates over a DHT network and exploits weak telnet passwords along with unpatched vulnerabilities to spread. Once a device is infected, it is used to conduct distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks and execute commands remotely. Mozi has evolved to maintain persistence on various network devices, ensuring continuous operation even after attempts to remove the malware.

Use case

Targets IoT devices to launch DDoS attacks and execute remote commands from malicious users.
