Mozi

IoT Botnet Tool - Targeting Devices

Mozi is a peer-to-peer botnet that capitalizes on vulnerabilities in Internet of Things (IoT) devices. It employs a decentralized structure based on the Distributed Hash Table (DHT) protocol to build its network. The botnet's capabilities include performing Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, collecting information from compromised devices, and executing payload commands specified by the botnet master. The infection vector primarily targets devices with weak Telnet passwords and exploits the underlying software vulnerabilities. Notable features include its ability to download and execute new instructions from specified URLs, ensuring its propagation and control over a larger network of infected devices.

Use case

Mozi is designed to infect and control IoT devices through known vulnerabilities, allowing for DDoS attacks and the execution of arbitrary commands.
